The Parallel Universe is a testament to the designer's ability to integrate character and space, creating a fashionable men's home with a unique taste and gentlemanly style. The design draws inspiration from the classic Art Deco style seen in "The Great Gatsby" and the modernist expression methods in the movie "50 Shades of Gray". The result is a work that appears simple but contains a hidden aristocratic temperament of great taste, reflecting the owner's unique and fashionable taste.
The design is realized through the use of geometric wheat ear elements throughout the space, complemented by marble and copper metal materials. The color palette is based on the high-end cool colors of black, gold, gray, and white, which interprets the visual beauty of the space. Covering a total of 905 square meters, the project was initiated in August 2019 in Huzhou and completed in December of the same year.
One of the unique features of the Parallel Universe is its clever spatial planning. The first floor houses two hidden bedrooms – a quiet and elegant room at the back of the living room for the elders and an American-style boy's room connected to the dining room's leisure area. This arrangement allows for three generations to interact in the space without interfering with each other, embodying the concept of a "parallel" space.
Overcoming design challenges, the designer used the triangular rooftop to stretch the temperament of the entire space. Decorative elements such as the metal wheat ear decorations on the top and the door header, the customized decorative paintings reproduced from movie posters, and the use of bright yellow aristocratic colors, all echo the central idea of the design intention.
The entire space is a manifestation of the male host's spiritual ideas, giving an inner definition of the family inheritance spirit. This design, admired for its strong technical characteristics and splendid artistic skill, showcases a remarkable level of excellence and introduces positive feelings, amazement, and wonder.
With its unique blend of styles and innovative design, the Parallel Universe is a worthy recipient of the Silver A' Interior Space, Retail and Exhibition Design Award in 2021. It stands as a testament to Mu Yuan's creativity and expertise in the field of interior design.
